The Immunology Programme at NUS is
looking for
Transgenic/Gene Knockout Specialist
The
successful candidate is a specialist in generating and maintaining gene
modified mice. He/She will also serve as the programme lab manager who will
oversee the smooth running and operations of the 11 laboratories in the
newly refurbished centre for life sciences. The programme is equipped with
state of the art flow cytometers, a high speed cell sorter, confocal and
other fluorescent microscopes, real time PCR machine, FPLC, Liquichip and
digital fluorescence microscopes. The post holder will report directly to
the programme leader and is expected to work closely with other programme
members and their teams. Applicants should have a
BSc and a PhD or equivalent in Life Sciences/ Immunology/ Biotechnology.
Flow Cytometry Specialist
Due to the
increase in flow cytometry and cell sorting carried out by the NUS
Immunology Programme, the cell analysis and sorting facility is looking for
a flow cytometry/cell sorting specialist.
The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding in the
operations of flow cytometers and if possible cell sorters. The successful candidate will help train
users and provide advice to researchers in designing and optimizing flow
cytometry and cell sorting experiments and will assist in developing
applications for biomedical research.
Applicants
should have a BSc in Life Sciences/ Immunology/ Biotechnology. A higher
degree and/or previous experience in flow cytometry would be an advantage.
Other qualities include positive working attitude, excellent interpersonal
skills, ability to communicate effectively to all levels, self driven with
lots of initiative.
Management Assistant Officer
You will be
working together with a small admin team and handle a diverse range of
general administrative duties which includes creating and maintaining
databases on research-related information, event and seminar
planning/organization, grant management, maintain an updated list of
publication, programme’s literature, webpage maintenance and other ad-hoc
duties as assigned.
Applicants
should have a diploma qualification, preferably in discipline of Business
Administration or Life Science, independent and a strong sense of
responsibility, meticulous, resourceful, highly motivated and a good team
player.
